For our client, a family business in Venlo specializing in road transport, we are looking for a Forwarder/ Planner.

The Planner-Forwarder manages the entire process from assignment to delivery of both partial loads and full loads for import and export shipments. The Planner-Forwarder is responsible for the desired and correct loading rate and the complete handling of the total 'door-to-door' transport, ensuring accurate, timely, and complete execution of received assignments while monitoring the expedition files.

The Planner-Forwarder independently organizes whether transportation will utilize a charter, a company vehicle, or groupage, keeping a positive return from the shipment in mind. Additionally, the Planner-Forwarder decides the most suitable modality for transport. He maintains contacts with clients and carriers, negotiates rates, and handles import and export documentation.

The Planner-Forwarder performs administrative tasks according to the logistics and administrative procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures control and timely handling of files, unloading lists before and after warehouse handling;
  • Ensures control of incoming assignments and coordination of transports with customers;
  • Maintains contact with carriers and agents in both domestic and international markets regarding available import and export cargo;
  • Responsible for route planning;
  • Maintains external contacts with customers and co-loaders about transports;
  • Maintains internal contact regarding the flow of processed files and credit control for delivery of shipments;
  • Responsible for timely informing relevant departments about unloading shipments through unloading lists, transport documentation, and instructions to carriers;
  • Timely and accurate invoicing of files.

Conditions

Salary depending on experience between 3300 and 3800 euros gross per month;

Travel expense compensation;

25 vacation days: 8.33% vacation pay;

Good pension scheme, 2/3 paid by the employer;

Full-time position, 40 hours;

Working hours between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM (possibilities to start half an hour earlier or finish later).

Requirements

Good social, communicative, and interpersonal skills/attributes; MBO level with several years of experience.

Good knowledge of the English language.Dutch is not required

Customer-oriented; Able to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility towards the organization.

Capable of maintaining an overview and working correctly even under pressure; Flexible.

'Hands-on' mentality, precise.

Actively contributing to improvement proposals.
