For our client a international logistics company in Venlo, we are looking for a

Control tower specialist

Every day in this department is focused on smooth goods flows, customer agreements, and smart solutions: you’re on it.

How you do this? Our European Control Tower is divided into different specialisations. Depending on your knowledge, experience, and interests, you will take on a key role in one of these areas: technology, fashion, or chemicals. Together with your team, you ensure new customers are implemented smoothly and existing relationships are further developed. To prepare you well, you will start by gaining experience within our freight forwarding departments, where you will get to know the operations up close. With these insights, you understand how our processes work and can provide effective support to our customers from day one.

You are always ready to deliver the ultimate customer experience. You have daily contact with international customers and act as their go-to person, ensuring shipments arrive on time and without issues. You are the link between customers and colleagues, and you address delays or problems immediately by finding the best solutions together with your team and the customer. You monitor lead times, track shipments carefully, and ensure everyone in the process always has the right information. You achieve this by:

  • preparing reports and processing the associated logistics administration in our system, keeping all data complete and up to date;
  • handling customer complaints and claims, finding and following up on solutions quickly and effectively;
  • identifying deviations in processes, analysing the root cause, and resolving issues immediately;
  • actively developing customer relationships and seizing opportunities to identify and realise business potential;
  • maintaining close contact with internal departments, including colleagues from planning, sales, and cross-dock, ensuring everyone is aligned and processes run efficiently.

Function requirements

  • a genuine passion for transport and logistics, which you effortlessly convey to customers and colleagues;
  • experience in logistics or transport, for example as a customer service employee or transport planner, with a hands-on approach to solving customer challenges;
  • a service-oriented mindset; you think in solutions, enjoy collaborating, and only stop when everything is perfectly arranged;
  • strong social skills, a healthy sense of humour, and the confidence to pick up the phone and act immediately;
  • excellent command of Dutch and English, allowing you to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and colleagues worldwide.
